Ugly Shoe of The Month : Miu Miu Plastic Rain Bootie

"Miu Miu Transparrent Plastic Bootie"

November 2014 Issue

I don't even know where should I start to rant about this fugly rain plastic bootie by Miu Miu. I hate the see-through plastic look, which you can clearly see the vapour coming out of your feet. That is definitely not flattering to the eye.

Other than the unflattering feet steam, the fit of the shoe is also horrible. The length of the bootie is awfully odd, cutting your ankle in a very unfortunate way, and the width will surely make your feet look like a swollen elephant foot.

And please, don't even get me started on trashtalking about the pink color of the top part of the plastic bootie. The color reminds me of a cheap barbie shocking pink. Or used condoms. I don't know which one is worse. *shudder

Sadly, this piece of bootie (pun intended) is also available in other dreadful colors. Don't believe me? See it for yourself :

Eeeekk..!! This color reminds so much of a industrial garbage disposal plastic bags.

Buuuuut there's one thing that I do like. The quirky screw heel could be a potential showstopper, if only combined with a subtle shoe design. Like this one for example :

"Miu Miu Unique Wedge Sandal"

This wedge sandal actually reminds me of one of McQueens creation from the Plato's Atlantis Spring/Summer 2010 collection. It's quite unique yet wearable at the same time. If only the whole collection would look like this..

You know this shoe will definitely rain on your parade..

Cat Talks and Catwalks : Christian Siriano S/S 2015

I've always known that Christian Siriano is a brilliant designer, but to be honest, I've never seen his shoe collection. At least until recently, since he posted a lot of pics of his designs for S/S 2015 collection on instagram and facebook.

"Christian Siriano S/S 2015 Shoe Collection"

Sadly it's all in black and white filter so I could not enjoy it 100%. Well, not until he released more stuff on his facebook page.

Aren't they all so gorgeous and eye catching?

According to style.com, the collection was inspired by the multidimensional glass sculptures of Australian artist Sergio Redegalli. This inspiration led Siriano to experiment with transparency in his collection. As you can clearly see on his shoe collection, everything looks sculptured and icy embellished, if that makes sense.

If you wanna see the full show, here it is :

You know that some of these foot candies will be in your collection soon..

Ugly Shoe of The Month : Nike + Riccardo Tisci Air Force 1 High-Top Sneakers

October 2014 Issue

There are so many wrong things about this shoe. Since I have some spare time, let me spill it to you five reasons why I loathe it so much.

1. I don't like flat shoes. I told you this already a thousand times. It's just not flattering for women.

2. I don't like this trend of combining high-end look with sporty shoes. Never have, never will.

3. The white bottom part that doesn't go together with the black top part. It's like they combined 2 ugly shoes together to create an uglier one, if it's possible. (*It's also available in black, but just as ugly. You can see it here.)

4. This damn thing cost 340€. The same amount of money for a nice flat shoe from Nicholas Kirkwood, or a satin espadrille from Christian Louboutin, or or or..

5. It'll make your legs look like a walking neon sign. Not even in an awesome statement shoe kind of way. Even a nice, understated Proenza Schouler satchel cannot save you :

This shoe is not acceptable in any occasion. Either you're a japanese schoolgirl, an electro-techno junkie, or even just plain weird. It's a definite no-no.

You know you will stay away from this shoe..

Series of Unbelievable Shoe Collection : Teeth Shoe

"Halloween Teeth Shoe"

Halloween is around the corner. Probably this shoe is perfect for it. It'll be great to scare some children away from your place, if you're not up for giving away some candies, or mentally scarred them for life.

You can dress it up as a creepy toothfairy or a witch bitch, or just as a crazy person. Your choice.

You know you won't be able to sleep after this..

Boo..!! Happy Haloween!

Fashion tips : How To Stretch Shoes

I don't know about you, but I loooovveee sale. It is of course a hit or miss kind of thing but that's what makes it so interesting. If you see anything that you like and it's for waaayy less price than it should be, it feels like you just won a lottery. I even have to admit that sometimes I feel slightly proud if I have something that's similar to someone else and I got it cheaper. I know, weird right.

But sometimes, things aren't as dreamy as it is. Sometimes the product that you want is not available anymore in your size. This happens a lot with shoe hunting because several fraction of centimeter really makes a huge difference for a comfort fit.

This video will show you 5 different ways to stretch your shoes. Finally! Dreams do come true! But remember, just because you can stretch your new shoes a little bit, does not mean that you can resize it. It will stretch maximum up to 1 shoe size, not more. So dont expect to buy a size 36 if you're a size 39, just because it's 200€ cheaper.

You know these tips from the video is a game changer..

Cat Talks and Catwalks : Alexander McQueen S/S 2015

Each year during every fashion week, Alexander McQueen never seize to surprise me. Either when he was still alive or after he passed and Sarah Burton continues his legacy. Although I prefer the raw crazy savage beauty he presented himself, that Ms. Burton sadly cannot copy, still Ms. Burton deliver the brand correctly. For example, the Spring/Summer 2015 Collection that was inspired by japanese culture. I mean, check out these Sakura Sandals.

Aren't they gorgeous? Looks crazy though, but no model was stumbling during the fashion show, so it means it's well made. And it's available not only both in cream and black, also in high and low model.

Fun Facts About Shoes : American Horror Story(?)

I know, I know, you're all probably wondering, what does the series, American Horror Story, and shoes have in common? The answer is simple, weird foot fetish.

I've been a huge fan of the series since the first season. But the show got me hooked on its final episode for season 3, when the witch was burned and yell "Balenciaga!" as her last word. I mean, we can all relate to that, can we?

For their 4th season, the theme will be about freak shows. And honey, trust me, the teaser images and videos they posted are very disturbing. Like, really disturbing. More so since I have an irrational fear for clowns. :-s

Despite all the disturbing images, there are 2 things that caught my attention.

The first one is this :

"American Horror Story Heel Foot"
Photo Credit : American Horror Story Facebook Page
Isn't it disturbing, yet painfully beautiful at the same time?

The second one would be this :

"American Horror Story Three Foot"
Photo Credit : American Horror Story Facebook Fan Page
I mean, more legs, more room for shoes, am I right?!

Hahahah I know how creepy I might sound, but hey, we're talking about American Horror Story here so I guess it's ok :-p

So if you're just as excited as I am, the show will premiere its 4th season on October 8th, which is exactly a week from today.

You know you are just as excited and disturbed as I am..

Ugly Shoe of The Month : Saint Laurent Patti Ankle Boots

"Saint Laurent Patti Ankle Boots"

September 2014 Issue

September is said to be the month of fashion and style. Or so I thought, until I saw this Patti ankle boots made by Saint Laurent.

I'm not even going to try and discuss every single details that I hate about this shoe, because it will make this post last for days. And I mean, daaaayysss, dahling!

At 1,395€, I was seriously thinking if this is some kind of a joke for Saint Laurent. But then again, if it's available at net-a-porter.com, it means that somehow somewhere, a poorly-tasted person scroll through the fabulous catalogues of shoes on the internet and stumbled upon this madness, stop for a few seconds, and then clicked the "Buy" button. Argh! I can't bear the thought of it!

If you see this shoe on the street, please do me a favor and call the nearest wildlife animal control operator to get it captured and finally have it euthanised. (The shoes, not the person wearing it, obviously!)

You know you better keep the number of the wildlife animal control operator just in case..

"Oh my god! Are you Lily?!"

Since April this year, I moved from Berlin to Bonn, a small city near Cologne, Germany, for my internship. I left all of my old life and my glamour behind me and started a new life here. So it's been a while since I got in touch with the fashion world. One of the ways to keep my fashion obsession going is by reactivating and writing my blog again. It feels so good to actually be able to escape into my old life back.

I know y'all gonna think that I'm making such a big deal out of it. But I grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia. A metropolitan city, populated with 15 Million people. It was never boring, even sometimes it could be too much. Then I moved to Berlin, which is a lot smaller and quieter than Jakarta, but at least the glamour part is still there.

And now I'm in Bonn, a beautiful city where nobody gives an f about what you're wearing. Clothing is not something you use to show your personality, but only for functional reasons. There are mainly 5 colors that people wear here, black, blue, brown, gray and white. No wonder people are shocked when I came to work wearing bright colored bowties and an orange Ted Baker messenger bag.

Me and my Sis on top of Godesburg Tower in Bonn.
People stared at us the whole time even though we already wore "their" color palette.

Don't get me wrong, the people are extra nice here and the city itself is so beautiful. It's just a lot different from the people in Jakarta or in Berlin. So I struggled for a while and I always kept it in mind that the internship will only last for 6 months and then I'm out of Bonn. But several bad stuff happened to me and I just know that I needed to go back to Berlin for some time, just to clear my mind and calm myself down for a bit. So I went to Berlin

In Berlin, all I wanted to do was just to have fun with my sister and my friends, went to my chill places, party so hard til my legs gave up, and eat as much exotic food as possible (exotic food is really rare in Bonn, so if it exist somewhere, it'll be expensive, which I can't afford with my internship salary).

So on Saturday, August 30th, I planned to meet my sister for a quick snack in Ostkreuz, an area in Berlin, filled with cute cafes and restaurants. So I went there with the S-Bahn and I just sat there and played with my cellphone. Suddenly on the Gesundbrunnen station, I saw a really pretty girl from outside the train window and she went into the train with her boyfriend and they sat across me. She said something to her boyfriend in a british accent english and my jaw dropped then and there.

I could not hold myself and these words just came out of my mouth without control. I said, "Oh my god! Are you Lily?!", which she replied hestitantly with a soft, "Uhm.. Yes."

There she is, sat in front of me in a dirty train station in Berlin, one of my favorite Supermodel in the world, Lily Donaldson. I literally watched all of her Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows, even I kept her spread for Dolce&Gabbana in my room during my highschool, which I stupidly mentioned to her. I now realized how creepy that might sound. :-/

"Dolce & Gabbana Fashion Spread"
I could not help but to fangirl in front of her and her boy, Cyprien Gaillard. Cyprien even giggled a lot everytime i said oh god oh god. I must've looked like a crazy person.

We took a pic together and talked a bit but then I decided to stop and keep my mouth shut because I don't wanna annoy my idol. She then changed her seats and put on some hoodie and curled up, which made me feel bad because I don't want her to feel unsafe, it's just that I couldn't help it that I adore her so much.

Look at my face. Pure fangirl bloated face.
After the "happy incident", I went home smiling as big as it could possibly get. It felt like I finally got my glamour back, even though I know it doesn't make any sense. But anyway, I hope that after I move back again to Berlin in October, I'll get to meet my other idols. (I'll meet GaGa on her ArtRave concert in Berlin in October also. Already so excited ^_^).

You know you're jealous of me now..

Kisses,

Fashion Tips : Shoes you'll definitely "fall" for. (*pun intended)

Fall is around the corner already, teasing us with breezy winds and fallen leaves. Even though it's a perfect weather nowadays to just chill and drink some warm chai latte in your couch with a snuggy, the show must go on. And what would be better than stepping on the new season with some nice pair of booties.

"Jimmy Choo Wister Ankle Boots"

You could never go wrong with a fresh pair of Jimmy Choo in any season. But for this fall, you will definitely drool over this one. It is called the Wister Ankle Boots and it has some snakeskin effects all over it. It's actually a simple looking bootie but with a twist. The zigzag design kinda makes it look edgier and rock glam-ish. If you "fall" for the Wister Ankle Boots, you can get it on net-a-porter.com for 775€.

"Lanvin Wedge Heel Ankle Boots"
If Jimmy Choo's Wister Ankle Boots is a bit uncomfortable for you while strutting along the street, covered in dried leaves, this ankle boot with a wedge heel from Lanvin will be an alternative for you. The wedge itself is not that high, around 8cm, and the color itself is also classy and timeless but not boring. I mean, how tired are you looking at black booties? (I mean shoes, not, you know..) Other than that, it cost a lot cheaper than Wister Ankle Boots at 490€ at net-a-porter.com.

"Gianvito Rossi Cut-Out Satin Bootie"
I know that sometimes people are scared of booties because it makes the legs look shorter. But this won't be an issue no more with this cut-out satin ankle boots from Gianvito Rossi. Not only it looks beautiful, it will also make your legs look beautiful too, plus at the same time giving your feet a cover for the harsh weather during fall. This multibeneficial boots is available at net-a-porter.com for 540€.

"Gucci Metal Front Suede Pump"
Lastly, if all of the above failed you, then go Gucci. It looks edgy and classy at the same time. Plus, don't you think the metal part in front is just romantic? Also the color is not a boring black so you won't look as if you haven't changed your shoes for the whole fall. Go grab one of these while it's available at net-a-porter.com for 585€!

You know that just like the temperature, this fall your savings will also fall to zero..

Kisses,

Seeing Double : Laced with Lacey

Do you have a lace fetish?

I looooovveeee me some laces. Especially stilettos with laces. Super sexy! But which one is the best one? I will give you some of the best examples here. (Since there are literally thousands of lace shoes, this time I'll limit myself only with some pumps).

The first one would be from Christian Louboutin, the pump is called "Ambro" Leopard Lace Peeptoe Pump. Wow that's a mouthful.

"Christian Louboutin Ambro Leopard Lace Pump"
Isn't she beautiful? But like always, with beauty come a heavy price. This time it's 775€. If you're up for something simple yet elegant, this would be it.

The second one would be the hip and happening Jimmy Choo "Faith" Lace and Patent Leather Peeptoe Pump.

"Jimmy Choo Faith Lace and Patent Leather Pump"

This one is sexier and edgier than Louboutin Ambro. Look at the curvy lines around the edges. Have you seen anything more seductive than that?

And talking about lace shoes would be a sin without mentioning the legendary Valentino Lace Court Shoe.

I mean...

How dreamy is that?! Looks like something out of fairy tale story. This shoe is perfect for a statement look. Like if you wanna impress your stylish boss or show your ex what he's been missing or so on.

There are still thousands of pretty lace shoes that I can't show one by one. But just for fun..

Which one would you choose and why? Let me know!

You know you want to be laced with all the lacey shoes..

Must Have Item : Louboutin Nail Polish

I know that everyone had been raving about this everywhere so I think I just have to do it in honor of Monsieur Christian Louboutin.

So the nail polish bottle cap itself was inspired by the highest stiletto ever designer by Mr. Louboutin that is called the "Ballerina Ultima". I have to say that it looks somehow a bit kinky in a way.

"Christian Louboutin Nail Polish"

The Louboutin's nail polish supposed to be the new It nail polish of the year, or even forever. According to the representative of Christian Louboutin, all of the polish were "formulated without any harmful ingredients, so that the highly pigmented, long-wearing nail polish dries to a luxurious lacquer."

From what I've heard, the polishes will cost around 50€. I have to be honest that I'm not that sure if it's true, but if it is true then I will expect the polish to stay on for at least a week without any rub-off and it will take only two layers top for a glossy finish and one layer for an opaque one.

Sources said also that it will be available in 30 different colors, so you don't have to worry that you won't find your favorite color. Just start worrying about the sake of your wallet.

"Christian Louboutin Nail Polish"
Photo Credit : The Corner Berlin facebook Page
If you are up for something dramatic for your own polish collection, I think this will be it. I mean, for the signature color, the "Rouge Louboutin", they created an 8-inch bottle cap, which would be a similar height to the heel of "Ballerina Ultima". The caps for other colors are slightly shorter but still just as dramatic. So I would not suggest this as your next carry on touch up polish, or else you would have to be prepared with having loads of explaining to do.

Check out their just-as-dramatic fashion video of this product, in a collaboration with David Lynch.

You know from now on you can match your nails with your red soles..

Designer Appreciation : Anastasia Radevich

Drooling over these couture candies? Who wouldn't?

Anastasia Radevich, the mind behind these dreamy pieces, came originally from Belarus, then moved to Montreal, Canada. She studied in London College of Fashion, with a major in footwear design. With that international experience, no wonder she's THIS creative. But her story doesn't end there. Guess who her mentors are? Alexander McQueen, Nicholas Kirkwood and Bolongaro Trevor (Creator of the brand "All Saints"). Hmm no wonder..

She spent several years under the wings of the legendary Mr. McQueen himself. Then she spent another several years under the creativity supervision of Nicholas Kirkwood, which was also mentored by McQueen years ago. And let's not forget the marvelous Bolongaro Trevor and his awesome brand, "All Saints".

To think that I used to dream about being a shoe designer. She would be one of my business contender. And Kirkwood, Louboutin, Blahnik, Zanotti, and the list goes on and on and on.

Oh and did I mentioned that Radevich also created a shoe that lights up also, like we used to have when we were younger? But she twisted it into a couture way, it's so breathtaking. I mean, look at it.

Honestly, how cool is that?! And not to mention the lasercut heel and platform made this shoe really look like it's from out of this world.

You can control the lighting through the inside of the shoe. There's someone posted a video in youtube but it's pretty dark. I hope you can still see the system.

I could write pages and pages about how awesome her creations are but I guess you it'll ruin the image of hers so I will stop while I still can.

You know her shoes made your jaw dropped..

Kisses,
