Ugly Shoe of The Month : Marni Canvas Plateau Sandal

May 2015 Issue

I am a firm believer that we are currently living in the future already. Technologies are already so advanced that it became a staple part of our lives. And honestly, futuristic fashion is also getting cooler and edgier day by day. However, Marni Canvas Plateau Sandal is not one of them.

It does have a futuristic vibe to it, almost like a millenial gladiator, but somehow the concept and the finish product does not seem to correspond so well.

I don't understand the zigzag plateau thing goin on, the choice of material for the sandal straps, the color, even the strap buckle that looks like one of the buckle for the strap of a cheap school bag. Plus, you know how I despise a complete open toe footwear.

If you're up for a galactic hooker geisha chic look, this canvas plateau sandal from Marni could probably be a perfect choice for you. If you have €570 to throw away.

You know you don't want this in your future closet..

Hey people! I'm a Youtuber!

Hello people!

Since several years ago, a lot of people asked me constantly why I don't have any youtube channel. My answer was always, ah there's too many trolls on youtube so I'm just gonna stick to blogging. Besides I don't have any ideas whatsoever about what kind of theme for my channel.

Since I graduated several months ago, I'm constantly looking for a positive outlets for my time excess. So the idea of making a youtube channel popped in my head again.

Now I have two videos on youtube and it's basically all about diy videos. Why? Since I looove to create stuff by myself and have something unique that is not available for other people. And why not share it with other people on youtube?

Oh and what makes my channel special? I usually create something that has several extra use and purposes. Mostly revolves around people and dogs. Well, you'll understand what I mean once you watch my videos.

So, I'd be glad if you watch my two videos and subscribe to me. Please do leave comments and critiques on my performance, how can I get better, etc.

Here's the link to my channel, in case you're wondering! Click here.

You know you want to see more..

Noritaka Tatehana is a japanese designer that designed some of the most breathtaking, dramatic pieces of shoes ever made. What's crazy about him is first of all that when he was 15, he already designed several dresses and shoes, all self-taught. He then went to study Fine Arts and Sculpture at the Tokyo National University of Arts, which makes a lot more sense, why are all of his designs look more like art pieces and sculptures.

What's more interesting about his pieces is that all of his creations were handcrafted and handmade by himself, which makes every pieces unique and different. But the most important of all, every single pieces will fit you perfectly. No wonder Lady GaGa and Daphne Guinness are a fan of his work.

If you wanna see more of him, check out this video :

You know you adore his works..

Fashion History : Iconic Shoes

As an admirer of shoes and stilettos, it would be a fact that there are thousands of shoes that I personally think looks magnificent and there are several thousands more that affects me and my life. But only a few selected pairs that are so special, it made history of its own.

I selected 4 amazing shoes, made by extraordinary designers that I personally think successfuly changed the history of fashion.

1. Vivienne Westwood's Super Elevated Gillie Shoe

Remember this nine-inch heel monster? Remember how it almost killed the legendary supermodel Naomi Campbell in her Westwood's runway walk on 1993?

Remember also what Vivienne Westwood said after the incident happened? "Shoes must have a very high heels and platforms to put women's beauty on a pedestal." Oh Ms. Westwood. Amen to that.

2. Manolo Blahnik's Royal Blue Pumps with Crystal Buckle

I'm pretty sure you're all very familiar with this shoe. Especially those who are just as obsessed with Sex and The City as me. Yes, this is the iconic shoe that Big used to propose to Carrie inside their dreamy walk-in closet.

Weirdly enough, Mr. Blahnik himself does not like the association of his company with Sex and The City. He told Sunday Telegraph, "If people talk to me about Sex and The City, I get sick.. It becomes too much and I don't feel comfortable." He also added that the company was saved from going bankrupt because of the boom of this particular shoe that he himself called "the stupid satin shoe". Talk about being ungrateful..

But hey, it means that this shoe succesfuly mark down the history by not only making every girls heart melt during the scene on SATC, but also by saving a legendary designer brand.

3. Marc Jacobs Backward Heels

I remember exactly the moment when I first saw this Ad Campaign of Marc Jacobs with Victoria Beckham in a magazine. I was in awe of how creative and crazy he was, to think that he could design a shoe with a backward heel.

This creation was first introduced on his 2008 Spring/Summer Collection. Back then I was still obsessed about being a shoe designer, so you can imagine how excited I was when I saw it.

Designwise I'm not really into it but the idea behind it is just spectacular, And I swear after this collection came out, it sparked another trend of heel-free shoes, made famous by my queen, Lady GaGa.

4. Alexander McQueen's Lobster Shoes

For my last pair of legendary shoes I'd like to dedicate to the late Mr. McQueen for one of his last collection, The Plato's Atlantis, with its legendary shoe, the lobster shoe.

This collection was the collaboration between him and my queen, Lady GaGa. No wonder I love the whole collection like crazy. But the most memorable one would definitely be the lobster shoes, or some people may call it the armadillo shoes.

I don't have enough words to describe my fascination towards this masterpiece. As you may noticed, I already made several posts regarding this shoe so I think I have to stop myself right here before I bore you guys out.

So those are the four most legendary shoes that I can think of. Which shoes do you personally think changed the whole world?

You know your world also changed because of these masterpieces..
