Gaetano Perrone is an insanely amazing italian shoe designer that I just recently discovered. He made these breathtaking shoes that are not just beautiful art pieces but also wearable. He claimed himself by the way that he is part architect, part designer. Makes more sense now, doesn't it?

He's pretty new to the shoe game also, just started from 15 years ago. But he does have a very very impressive career past. He worked not only with one major designer, not two, but more than 10 big brand designers, such as Antonio Berardi, who introduced Perrone to shoe designing, Ungaro, Ferragamo, Sergio and Gianvito Rossi, Dior, and guess who else? The one and only, the legendary, Mr. Lee Alexander McQueen.

He does claim that his six years at McQueen have been the most challenging. But also it has been the most rewarding.  I mean, obviously. McQueen is crazy for small details and extravagant concepts, so we can only imagine what was happening behind closed doors in the design department.

Oddly enough, almost every time I wrote about some new designers in my designer appreciation collumn, they've been working with McQueen. I guess it does show something, that McQueen did or does help a lot of talented young artists to create their own fashionable path to the top.

The brand Gaetano Perrone itself started not so long ago, since 2010. So it means there are still rooms for us to expand our current obsession with his next collections.

You know you wanna know more about Perrone..

Kisses,

Adrian FS.
